1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is the latest in Ecovacs' line of hybrid robot vacuum-mop robots. This model that is dry and wet includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet by 360 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping, faster response time, and greater cleaning accuracy.
It also has a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille, making it easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mop. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to wash its pad and get to work, and I noticed it was much more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms' corners and edges, and also create a "Zambani pattern" across the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the trash bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another clean-up job.
Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. It takes just a few minutes to put the dock in position, plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi network at home. After that, you can start the app and begin with your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for sweeping and mopping, reworking the placement of wall-mounted furniture and more. The X2 Omni did a great job during my tests, with excellent scores for cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you're looking for a strong combination of mopping and vacuuming look into the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line of the brand and comes with the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing technology that lets it respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The most significant issue with the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch from mopping to vacuuming in a single run. The two modes require that you attach and remove mop heads as needed which is great for most homes but not a good fit for people who lead busy lives.
However, the Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that has impressive results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of the debris from our hardwood flooring. This is an excellent performance. It also did an excellent job with tile and carpet, removing over 90% of dirt and debris.
This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool mop pads. It also comes with an auto-emptying 3L bag that's easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.
As with other mopping robots such as the Deebot T10, this one comes with a wash tray at its base, which rinses and dries the mop pads when it uses them. It does not have a removable tray so dirt, dust and other grime can slowly build up at the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the world of robot vacuums but this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's attractive, even if its claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning does not come true.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor. On the other hand there's a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its' mouth.' It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to fit under chairs and sofas.
The mapping system is quite sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always great at climbing over rugs. It was great at picking up pet hair from bare floors. This high-tech model can remove pet hair, kibble, and other particles with impressive efficiency. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, including two cleaning modes as well as an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled through the Neato app which allows cleaning to be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with carpet, hard floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck on power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.
In our test of hardwood floors and kibble, this robot performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one go. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.
The A4s Pro is expensive, but it's a great buy for people who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can take on other tasks or perform household chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to get rid of difficult dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.
This budget-friendly option from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest model we've ever tested and provides an outstanding value for cost. Its navigation system is basic and uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ may not appear as durable however, it's better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It clears bare floors more thoroughly and does a fair job on carpets with low pile and makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for greater maneuverability. It also lets you send it to a specific area, and its advanced suite of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It also allows you to stop and resume cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes that have pets.
Its self cleaning brushroll prevents tangles and can carry up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that penetrate into corners and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens to ensure a healthier air.
